Parental Consent Notice

This notice explains how parents control child profiles and what child data ChoreDash uses. Parents and guardians should review the Privacy Policy and provide any consent required by applicable law before a child uses the service.

Who creates child profiles

Only a logged-in parent (18+) can add a child to ChoreDash. By adding a child you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and you consent to ChoreDash collecting the limited data described in our Privacy Policy for that child.

What we collect from a child

• First name and optional nickname/avatar — chosen by the parent.
• Optional 4–6 digit PIN — used only for the kid login screen.
• Photos the child submits as chore proof — visible only to household members.
• If enabled by current parental consent, text prompts a child chooses to send to Learn with Dash. Obvious phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses are filtered before prompts are sent to OpenAI's API. OpenAI's standard API abuse-monitoring logs may include prompts and replies for up to 30 days; API data are not used for training unless the API customer opts in. ChoreDash does not save that chat to the child's profile or show it to parents; it is not monitored live. See the Privacy Policy for details.
• When a child asks Dash for help with a chore, screened text and relevant chore details are sent to OpenAI's API. Chore-help conversations are saved in ChoreDash and can be reviewed by household parents; they are not monitored live.

We do not collect a child's last name, email, phone number, precise location, or persistent advertising identifiers. If AI photo review is requested, the chore image is sent to OpenAI; see the Privacy Policy for provider retention details.

How consent is recorded

Adding a child is blocked until you record consent. By default you read the consent statement, tick a box and type your full name (a signed affirmation). For stronger verification you can complete a $0 card check through Stripe. Each record stores the method, the policy version you accepted and the exact text shown, so it is auditable.

Parental controls

From Settings → Privacy & Data you can: see your consent status, download a full JSON export of your household and each child's data, revoke consent for one child or the whole household (which freezes the profile and stops collection), and permanently delete a child or the entire household — including every photo and voice clip in private storage.

Withdrawing consent

Revoke consent or delete the profile in Privacy & Data — deletion is immediate. You can also email privacy@choredash.info; we complete verified requests within 30 days.
